The daughter of a French father and Dominican mother, Cyrille Aimée grew up near the French village Samois-sur-Seine. She found her calling as a singer by sneaking out at night to meet with Gypsy musicians setting up camp in nearby meadows for the annual Django Reinhardt Festival.
